Join The Community

The Home and Community Supports program integrates people into their community and teaches individuals to live as independently as possible in their homes and their community. Individuals are supported in community locations of their choosing while participating in activities alongside people without disabilities.

Skills acquired and maintained through Home and Community Supports are essential to the overall success for someone seeking competitive employment.

The following are common skills people learn to increase their independence:

Money management
Learning public transportation
Self-advocacy
Making healthy life decisions
Home skills (cooking, cleaning, laundry, yardwork, etc.)
Learning community resources
Developing leisure activity preferences
Choice and decision making
Developing social skills
Developing communication skills
